Review: NYX Stay Matte Not Flat Powder Foundation

Hi! I forgot I said I would do a review on this so here is it! So let's start with packaging like we always do! First off I think the packaging is really cute however it's not as sleek as like my Cover FX Powder. The compact is quite a bit thicker. But there is a compartment under the powder for the sponge. But overall I have really no complaints about the packaging.

Now it does say this is a full coverage powder. It says that using it wet gets you the most full coverage. I have not tested that because I really wasn't sure how to go about this. I've just heard if you get powder products wet they get the hard layer on top which I don't want to happen. So this is just a review based on using it dry. I have worn this over several different foundations. My personal favorite is to wear it over my Rimmel Stay Matte to get it to match better and also to add to the coverage. I don't like pairing it with my Relvon ColorStay foundation because the coverage is already so awesome and can be a bit too much and cakey.  So if you are using this to set a foundation use a light hand. Here is me wearing it as a setting powder over my Rimmel Stay Matte.
I think it isn't a fantastic setting powder. It really doesn't keep me more matte than any other powder I have used. I like it for the price but I don't think it does anything fantastic. It's just ok. As a foundation on it's own I think it's got ok coverage. I think I would rather use a BB Cream that has light coverage put this on top for extra coverage but on it's own it is just not enough coverage for me. Here is me wearing it as foundation on it's own with no liquid foundation just primer.
So would I repurchase this again? Maybe... It's an ok powder for over a foundation but I still really want to find my HG Powder. So far my Cover FX Powder as been that powder. It gives me medium coverage but I can also wear it on top of my foundation. I think in comparison to other drugstore powders I think this is a step better than most of those. So if I needed a cheap powder I might turn to this but otherwise not my favorite powder out there. I hope you guys enjoyed this review! Thanks for reading!

  1. Hi there!
It's looking good. What color NYX powder foundation did you use?

    1. Thanks! I believe it was #2 nude. I just finished it last month so I'm not 100% sure.
