Growing Out A Bob: 5 Month Haircut Update!

Hi! I know I said I wasn't going to post an update about growing out my hair for about another month but I gave in and got it cut. I'm so glad I did! Before I show you it now let's look at where I started at.

 

This was from my last update and the last two pictures in this set are from me coloring my hair last.

 

And now the big reveal!

 As you can see it's not graduated anymore which will make it easier to grow out. It doesn't seem like she took much off which makes me happy but I noticed that it did feel shorter when I styled my hair this morning. It must not seem very different because no one has said anything expect people that knew I was cutting my hair. I'm not sure if I should do an update in 3 months which would be 8 months total or 4 months with a total of 9 months. Anyways this WAS my goal for 6 months which would be next month.

 

I feel that's probably going to be my goal for my update again in 3-4 months. I know hers is graduated but I'm hoping my hair will be as long as hers is in the front. I'm hoping it will longer but we'll see. Pretty much everything is the same from last time. I think I'll do a small 6month update next month. Thank you for reading!

Review of Joico Mositure Recovery Balm Treatment

Hi so today I'm doing another review. Mostly because I feel like this review is overdue and I haven't been able to actually do a tutorial. Work has been going well but has been taking up so much of my time I haven't been able to do a tutorial or much of anything for that matter. Well on to the review! This is what mine looks like:

 

I've heard that this is the professional size and that they have a smaller one. I didn't notice a smaller one but this one was $13 from Cosmoprof. Overall I pretty much always love when products come with a pump. So packaging is great in my book! Some of you may have read my Moroccan Oil Masque review and know that my hair never really felt actually hydrated. This product is truly amazing in that my hair seems hydrated and when it is dry it looks amazing. Even right out of the shower my hair feels amazing wet. Also my hair stays hydrated. It has made a huge difference with my hair. I believe it has really helped my hair with growing it out. Winter being so dry really drys out my hair the most and it is nice to have it in the beautiful state it is in right now. My ends look soooooo much better. Before they looked dry, broken, and split in places. Also it smells great. I'm horrible at describing scents. My favorite scent for a product is Bedheads Color Goddess Shampoo and Conditioner which has like a caramel vanilla scent to it. But if I had to describe this I would say it's more of a perfumey scent rather than like a sweet, spicy, musky, or etc scent. I have used it twice in one week and it has never made my hair felt weighed down at all. It also has that thick consistency that most hair masks have and make me feel like it's probably a good mask. In the end would I buy this again? YES! This very well maybe my HG hair mask. I'm thinking about getting the one for damage too. If your hair is super damaged or dry I would try this mask because I think you will really see a difference with your hair. I hope you guys enjoyed this review. Hi! Sorry I haven't posted in awhile again. I meant to post this before Easter but we were gone for the weekend and I forgot my stuff to upload the pictures. This was suppose to be a face of the day but another very quick easy makeup look. So here it is:

Lips: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose

Gloss: Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush Lip Gloss

 

And that's it! Very quick and super easy! Coming up I'm working on 2 spring tutorials that kind of go together and still the beginner's makeup kit. Review of Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner

Hi! Today I'm going to review Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner. I bought this set about a month ago and we have used over half of it already. This is what the packaging looks like.

 

Overall I like the packaging it goes with the tea tree theme. It says on the back of the bottle that if you buy tea tree you help plant a tree so it's nice that it does help a cause/environment. The main reason I bought this set was my fiancee really liked the Aveda and L'Oreal Rosemary Mint Shampoo and Conditioner. It had that slight tingle to it. So a few friends said that a lot of men like the tea tree for the same reason. I like trying different shampoos and conditioners so I though why not. I like the tingling cooling sensation after you use it. It's nice and refreshing feeling. It does have a nice smell if you like really minty scents. It is nice because it really clears your senses when you are in the shower. The smell can be a bit overpowering though. This shampoo does not lather up the best. It takes some work and it take more shampoo than it usually does for me to wash my hair. There doesn't seem to be anything special about the conditioner. After I get out of the shower it is very hard to comb my hair and my hair just feels weird. The conditioner just feels like it didn't do much of anything for my hair. I hate the weird feeling when I get out of the shower. But would I buy this shampoo and conditioner again? No. The parts of it that I sort of like are not worth the parts of it I hate. It was fun to try something new but this one was a bit of a fail for me. Anyways I hope you enjoyed this review and thank you for reading!

My Everyday Look (As Of Right Now)

Hi! Sorry I haven't posted lately. I had to take my board exams for my cosmetology license. And I passed both! So I am officially a licensed cosmetologist! I've been busy studying and preparing so I haven't had time to post anything. I'm back today though with a look I've been doing pretty much for the last week. It's quick and when I have a lot going on it's nice to not have to put a lot of thought into it. So let's get started!

 

First I apply my MAC foundation in NC15 like usual. Then I applied Urban Decay's Buck into my crease.

 

Next I apply MAC's Retrospeck on my lid.

 

Then I applied a little bit of Urban Decay's Darkhorse into the outer v and blended it slightly into the crease. I also applied Darkhorse to my lower lashline.

 

Lastly I applied a very fine line of Urban Decay Perversion Eye Pencil to my upper lasline. You can smudge it out if you like. One day I didn't and yesterday I did. It's just personal preference. Then I applied two coats of my Sephora Atomic Volume mascara and the eyes are finished!

 

For the rest of my face I used my MAC Veluxe Brow Pencil in Deep Brunette on my brows and applied MAC's blush in Well Dressed. Lastly I applied a little bit of my Sugar Lip Treatment in the color Rose and applied some of MAC's Creme Cup lipstick on top. And we are finished!

 

It's pretty quick and definitely easy. I really hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. Next post will be a review on the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo and Conditioner. I'm still working on the beginner makeup kit post. I have a few things but I'm working on getting the rest. I'm hoping by the end of April to have a review on the Covergirl 3in1 Foundation. Your Opinions on Hair Extensions???

Hi! So today I'm asking for your help/opinion on hair extensions. Let me explain(: Most of you can see I'm trying to grow my hair out but honestly it can't get long fast enough. I really would like to try extensions out. I really would like to try clip ins because they are not as damaging to your hair as some of the more semi-permanent options. Plus I would change my hair everyday so having the choice to wear them or not is definitely nice. So this is where you and your opinion come in(: I would love to hear some suggestions of brand/companies you think have great hair extensions. A few brands I have considered are:

-SKR Hair Extensions

-Head Kandy Hair Extensions

-BestHairBuy.com Hair Extensions

-Foxy Lock Hair Extensions

 

Each seem to have their own pros and cons. Some are cheaper and some are more expensive. Some have more color selection and some have more textures than others. I think I want 16-18in and at least 120grams of hair. My cousin bought extensions which I colored for her and hers were from Sally's. I believe hers were Euronext and they were 70grams. They were really nice but they definitely needed to be thicker for both of us. I tried them on even though they did not match at all but I could tell they were too thin. So even though I thought they were pretty nice I won't be getting those. I think if I can wait 6 months without getting my hair cut I will sort of celebrate not cutting my hair with extensions (lol it is very hard not to cut your hair when you are a cosmetologist). Anyways what are your opinions and experiences with hair extensions and hair extensions companies? Also go ahead and recommend any brands I may not have mentioned. Coloring My Hair and Malibu Color Correction

Hi! Today I'm coloring my hair and I'm hoping I'll leave it this way for about 2 months at least. This is what I have:

 

-Paul Mitchell Permanent Color in 4N

-Paul Mitchell Permanent Color in 3N

-Malibu Color Correction Packet

 

Here is what I started with:

 

Please excuse my greasy hair. Then I got in the shower and followed the directions on the back of the Malibu treatment. I shampooed my hair then applied the crystals. I let them sit for 5 minutes and shampooed and rinsed again. NO conditioner! And here is the results from that.

 

As you can see it definitely removed some color. I just wanted to lighten it up some and get rid of as much red as possible. I definitely noticed a difference. I think this product would be good if your color comes out too dark or you are trying to go blonde and want to get as much color out as possible. I haven't used these before but I'm curious if they would continue to remove color if you did again like the next day or something. They also say they are 100% vegan.

 

Now onto the color! I love having my hair neutral because it looks great with pretty much anything. So for my formula I mixed 2oz.4N+2oz.3N+4oz of 5vol developer and it was all Paul Mitchell. And this is the finished result.

 

 

I really like it. My eyes stand out more I think. Now if my hair was just longer....
