Nails Of The Week 2/16 - 2/22

Hi! This is my Nails Of The Week post for last week. I really reached for something I haven't used in awhile. Here is a picture of the color.
It's Rimmel's 60 second polish in Shocker. While I think the color is gorgeous and it's a really fun pink color. It's not really my style though. I've decided to toss this one. I rarely reach for it and it's just getting old. I will have another one of these posts up later this week with my nail color for this week. Sorry I took a little break because I haven't been feeling well. I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things. Thank you for reading!

Review: Simple Skincare Starter Kit

Hi! Today I'm sharing another review. I was shopping for some new skincare stuff and I didn't have a lot of money to splurge so I saw this little kit and thought I would give it a shot. This kit comes with a moisturizing face wash, a moisturizer, and some makeup remover wipes.

I don't remember the exact price but it was pretty good price. Simple skincare also says it has no artificial perfumes or dyes in any of these products. So I'm going to start with the face wash. It says it's a moisturizing face wash. I'm happy to say I have noticed a different in my skin. It seems to be less dry. I like this because it's tough enough to remove my makeup but gentle enough to leave my skin soft and not squeaky clean tight feeling. I would definitely give this a try. Next is the replenishing rich moisturizer. This moisturizer is thinner like your typical lotion. So I don't necessarily agree with the rich part because rich makes my think of thick and luxurious. However this moisturizer does make my skin feel soft and moisturized. I thick this is a day moisturizer but I personally like something thicker for night. And lastly are the cleansing facial wipes. The first time I used these I was super impressed as it got off my difficult mascara rather easily. The second time they were just as good. But the third time it felt like I was dragging the wipe around my face and wasn't getting much makeup off. I'm not sure if they started to dry out a little or what but it wasn't the same. One thing I LOVE about these though is makeup removing wipes near my eyes can sometimes sting a little or just make my eyes water. These I do not have that problem at all! So if you have sensitive eyes I would definitely recommend these. Overall I'm actually impressed with Simple Skincare. But the big question would I purchase this again? Yea I think so. Everything in this set was nice. The face wash I would probably use in these colder bitter months when my skin needs moisture. The moisturizer I think would be good for summer when I don't need a thicker heavier moisturizer. The wipes I like and plan to repurchase if the ones I have left work ok. I hope you guys liked this post and thanks for reading!

Growing Out A Bob: 1 year and 3 months update!

Hi! It's been another 3 months since my last update about my hair. I didn't really think my hair had grown much but it has. It's still quite a bit shorter than my end goal but it finally doesn't feel short. Here is it now.

Here are some shots of my grown out bangs. Finally starting to not feel so awkward lol(:

I have had a lot of temptation to cut it shorter. It seems short hair is popular and I've been resisting the urge. I even made a pinterest board of my goals lol. So what am I doing to keep it in good shape?

1. Joico Damage Shampoo and Conditioner- This was in my last update but I'm still using it.

2. Joico Moisture Mask- This has saved my hair this winter but I'm almost out so I need more.

3. Leave in Conditioner- I have 3 kinds.  I my It's a 10 the most. Otherwise I mix my Paul Mitchel Forever Blonde Dramatic Repair Spray and Biolage Keratindose Renewal Spray.

4. Eating Healthy and Staying Hydrated -this always helps. Give your hair the things it needs to produce healthier, stronger hair.

5. Cutting Down on Heat Styling and Styling in General- I have really cut down on heat styling but then I usually put it in a top knot. Which isn't that good for your hair either so I've been working on switching it up and maybe just using a loose headband for example.

6. Bedhead Urban Anti-dotes Resurrection Shampoo and Conditioner- This has helped my hair too. I think this set is suppose to be more moisturizing which is good. So far I like this duo.

7. The Wet Brush- I have noticed a huge difference since using this. I have way less hair in my brush and less damage to my hair in general. It's been perfect.

All of this has been helping with my hair lately. I also used the Paul Mitchell Shines which is why my hair is so shiny. I'm hoping for even better growth this summer and I'm hoping to get back in the habit of taking my vitamins. My upcoming goal is about this length.

And that is my update! Watch in another 3 months I will post another update or sooner because my hair is in need of a cut. I hope you guys liked this and thanks for reading!

Review: The Wet Brush

Hi! I promised some reviews on things I bought earlier this month right before my Project Pan update. This I didn't actually buy however. It was a gift from my grandma. So how did I stumble across this awesome brush? I'll tell you(: My grandma was complaining that she had bought a new hairbrush but it was awful. It was pulling out her hair and it hurt. My grandma does not listen to the use wide tooth comb after shower rule so you can image how much damage she was doing to her hair. My hair also hasn't been in the best shape either. While watching a youtube video about preventing damage someone mentioned the Wet Brush. It seriously looked like a normal brush but after watching a few more videos I decided to try it. It just so happens we also had a mini vacation coming up and we were going to be at a waterpark. I talked my grandma into getting this for our trip but she also bought me one. But this was the perfect way to test out this brush. First off this is how the brush looks.

Again nothing crazy. It looks like a typical brush. The handle is really soft and smooth. I can't explain it but it's like that soft rubberized stuff. The only thing I noticed to be any different was the bristles were skinnier than the usual hairbrush. It claims it's intelliflex bristles know when to be firm and when to be soft. It also can be used on wet or dry hair. The first time I used this was on dry hair that had been hidden under a hood. So for me that meant some major knots. It brushed them out pretty easily and didn't hurt at all. With a usual brush I would have gotten the knots out but it would have hurt. I continued to use it on my wet and dry hair through out the week at the waterpark. I let my cousin try it and she was amazed too. Everyone who used it that week was amazed. I even brushed out my hair that was wet and had been teased. I wouldn't say it gets the knots out perfectly on one run through. But it doesn't hurt which is a huge plus to me. I also have noticed way less hair in my brush. I mean WAY less hair! My hair has seemed to already be in better shape and I can't help but think it's because of this. Nothing else in my routine has really changed. The bristles feel like a little massage when you use it. I just love everything about this brush and so far everyone else has too. Would I buy it again? Yes it's amazing and I seriously think you should try it! It really is great and worth the hype. I hope you guys enjoyed this review! Thank you for reading!

Nails Of The Week 2/9-2/15

Hi! I forgot to post this earlier last week because we were on vacation and then when we got back I forgot all about it. But this is my nails of the week.

I'm sorry my nails are so badly chipped but a waterpark tends to do bad things to your nails. Besides that this color is OPI Chapel Of Love. This seemed appropriate for Valentine's Day and it's a beautiful pink with some slight shimmer. This one is a keeper. I love this color and it's actually one of my favorites for spring and summer. I will have another better post up next week. Thank you for reading!

Spring Hair Color Trends

Hi! I thought I would do another one of these posts since my fall one was so popular. I have easily noticed the fashion spring trends working their way into stores but hair has been a different story. Then I decided to really start looking around and realize I do see some trends forming. Another reason for this post is it's February and it's hard not to dream about warmer weather. I can't speak for everyone but I'm tired of looking at snow...

So one of the first trends I started to notice was a darker more natural blonde. I wouldn't really call it  bronde even though it usually is either dark blonde or light brown with lighter blonde highlights. It's a pretty look that is more laidback looking and has a softer more natural appearance. Here are a few variations of that.

Next I noticed that ombre is not on it's way out. I mean someone always says it is but you never stop seeing the pictures on pinterest so it's still popular. I feel like we will see mostly softer ombres this year though.

Balayage highlights are definitely popular. I love these because the grow out is not as severe as foil highlights and it just has a softer more sunkissed look. Perfect for spring!

Coppery red/strawberry blonde seems to be pretty on trend for spring. I've been seeing it all over the place. I like this much better for spring then a brighter red. It's got that lighter look that we all mostly go for in spring and summer.

Another color I've noticed a lot is warmer blondes. I think platinum will always be popular but I have noticed that warmer blondes seem to be the trend. Even if it's just highlights or lowlights in a warmer shade it really helps warm up your whole look for spring.

Pastels and bright colors I think are going to be popular again like they were last year. I think pastels especially will be popular.

And that is all the trends I have kind of noticed for the spring but I also wanted to share some more spring hair color ideas I liked.

So I hope this gave you some ideas of what you might like to do with your hair for spring and summer. I will have more posts up soon! Thank you for reading!

My plan for going blonde

Hi! I have a game plan for going blonde but I'm going to go backwards a little bit and then start going lighter and trying to keep my hair in good condition.

I'm going to start here with neutralizing the red tones. I actually just dyed my hair this color but I used a demi which is a little more gentle on my hair. Also my color is a little darker than this.

Next I want to put some highlights in and let the base color fade a little lighter. I will probably still have to use something to tone the base color so it's not so red  or warm toned. I don't mind if it's warm but I don't want it super warm like it was before I colored it.

Next get more highlights to keep getting it lighter. Also the brown base should have faded a lot and I might be able to dye it a lighter color.

Lastly keep getting highlights until it's mostly blonde. I could stop when I get to something like this picture or I could keep getting more highlights to get really blonde.

So this is my plan right now(: I did go darker which I could have stayed where I was and got highlights but I wasn't happy with the red brown color. I'm hoping to stick with this plan but I also tend to get impatient. I'll update you the next time the color changes and share with you guys what I get done.(: Thank you for reading!

Naked 3 Tutorial

Hi! This is one of my favorites looks from this palette. I will have more of these up soon! Let's go ahead and get started!

First I applied a mix of Limit and Nooner in my crease.

Next I applied Liar on my lid.

Then I applied Factory into my crease and outer v. I also applied it along my lower lashline. I also blended Nooner up a little higher to the brow bone.

To finish the eyes I applied Strange as my brow highlight. I applied a mix of Dust (not a big fan of this color) and Burnout as my inner corner highlight. I used my angled liner brush with my UD Perversion pencil to create a soft winged out liner look. To finish the eyes I applied Benefit They're Real mascara.

To finish the rest of the face I applied my CoverGirl 3 in 1 foundation. I used my Sigma brow powders in Auburn. I applied my MAC Well Dressed blush and my NYX matte lipstick in Whipped Caviar. Sometimes I do go for a more nude lip though.

I hope you guys enjoyed this look. I have been lately(: Watch for more stuff coming up! Thank you for reading!
